Ready to get a workout and help soil heal?
Roll up your sleeves and put on your garden gloves because the soil is waiting! Once a month, Sarvodaya Institute hosts a Farm Workout Day to teach & engage the community in gardening and regenerative agricultural practices. During a Farm Workout, students will be mulching, weeding, pruning and learning about how regenerative agriculture has a direct effect on our gut health as well as the health of the planet. Help keep the plants and crops healthy while getting a natur-al workout!
- Did you know that mulching the soil will enrich & regenerate it?
- Did you know that mulching draws down carbon, recharges soil, and creates soil biology?
- Did you know that the more soil biology there is the healthier the soil is?
- Did you know the healthier the soil is the healthier our food is?
About the Teacher
Learn about the many benefits of regenerative agriculture from the host, Manju Kumar, aka @ZeroWasteFarmer. Manju is the Farm Manager at Sarvodaya Farms and is dedicated to soil regeneration and reforestation of urban cities. She is also the president of Brush with Bamboo, a company dedicated to creating products that are good for a health planet.
What to Bring
Our events encourage participants to practice zero waste principles by; bringing their own reusable water bottle and/or mug, preventing food waste by serving optimal food portions, and composting organic material. Hats, sunscreen and farm shoes are suggested. Dress comfortably and enjoy a day at the farm, while getting a great workout. See you at the farm!
