Description: A plant with succulent-like narrow leaves, the sea plantain is a plant that can withstand maritime exposure and can even be submerged under water for a short period of time. With a strong taproot and waxy leaves that grow in a tight rosette, the sea plantain is a tough plant and attractive to wildlife.
The leaves and seeds are edible. Young leaves can be consumed raw or cooked although fresh is best and has a pleasant taste with a slight bitter aftertaste.
