This native California buckwheat shrub, Ashyleaf Buckwheat (Eriogonum cinereum), is a silvery gray plant that can grow up to 1 meter in height and width. The leaves are wavy-edged ovals and in summer, it produces clusters of tiny fragrant and hairy light brownish-pink flowers. It is highly attractive to the Bernardino dotted blue butterfly and is a popular choice for coastal gardens.
