With two origin stories, one connected to UC Davis and the other starting at the University of Georgia, the important thing about this productive dwarf Red Silk variety is that it is delicious. This type has medium sized fruit with a smooth, red rind and deep pink arils that boasts a sweet flavor with hints of grenadine. Whether eaten fresh or made into actual grenedine or even molasses, you'll enjoy this fruit's delicious flavor that is mostly sweet with some tang.

Pomegranate is fairly easy to take care of. If desired, pomegranates can be pruned to a tree shape. Add compost at initial planting, and dress with 1/2 inch of compost annually. Pomegranates will survive drought, but will flourish with regular deep watering.
